Aaron Cromie
Aaron Cromie is a Philadelphia based director, performer, mask & puppet designer and teacher. He recently directed American Sligo for New City Stage and has also directed for Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre (The Two Noble Kinsmen, Titus Andronicus, Henry V), Lantern Theatre (Scapin), Azuka Theatre (The Long Christmas Ride Home), Theatre Confetti (Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them), two commissions for the American Philosophical Society (The Astronomer Collapses and A Paper Garden) among others. Aaron recently co-created the Fringe hit Saint Joan, Betrayed with his partner, Mary Tuomanen. They are at work on The Body Lautrec, set to premiere Fall of 2014. Aaron has received 5 Barrymore awards as well as grant support from the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage, Jim Henson Foundation, and the Independence Foundation Fellowships in the Arts program. He is co-founding Faculty for the Headlong Performance Institute and teaches for Pig Iron's APT program and for The University of the Arts. He is a graduate of The College of New Jersey and The Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre. He was in utero during the Watergate break-in. |
