General Admission Seating
All seating is general admission. Patrons requiring special seating consideration due to a medical condition should contact the Box Office at 215-563-7500 to make advance arrangements. The Main Stage of The Adrienne has 106 permanent theatre-style seats, plus approximately 10 chairs to accommodate overflow seating. The Second Stage has 60 seats and no room for overflow seating. Symmetry Dance Studio is flexible and includes several seating possibilities: benches, chairs, on-the-floor seating, standing room, etc.
Arrival Time
Plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled performance time. The theatre will be opened for seating by the House Manager approximately 15 minutes prior to curtain. As a benefit to our subscribers, our Priority Seating program invites subscribers to enter the theatre first upon opening of the house.
Special Needs
If you have special needs such as an aisle seat or Wheelchair seating, it is best to call the box office prior to the performance, or arrive 30 minutes beforehand so we can accommodate you. The Main Stage is located on the first floor of the Adrienne so wheelchairs are easily accessible. There is an elevator accessible for all patrons to reach the Second Stage. There is a ramp located outside of the building which makes it accessible to wheelchairs. Please call the box office the day before about your special needs and we will be happy to make your visit as pleasurable and stress-free as possible.
Latecomer Seating
Latecomers will be seated completely at the discretion of the House Manager at the first appropriate break that allows for the least disruption for the actors, as well as the rest of the audience. Please keep in mind only a limited number of latecomers can be accommodated. Please notify the Box Office at 215-563-7500 if you know you will be late to a performance so the House Manager can be prepared.
Service & Handling Fees
In order to keep our costs low by having a smaller sized box office staff, we NEVER charge service fees for tickets purchased on line. We appreciate the convenience and your patronage! There may be a service charge for tickets purchased over the phone.
Show Cancellations
Cancellations due to inclement weather or other circumstances are very rare. When a performance must be canceled, the Box Office will make every attempt to contact you in order to notify you of the event and make arrangements for attending an alternate date. If tickets have been purchased on line, we will send out an email to all ticket holders as soon as we know the performance is happening. Should you not be able to attend a performance due to severe weather, New City Stage Company does not offer refunds when a performance has taken place; however, "emergency" exchanges can be made up to an hour before curtain time.
If there are other extenuating circumstances that prevent you from attending a show and you aren't able to reach us until after that particular performance, please email the Box Office Manager at
Box.Office@NewCityStage.org or call 215-563-7500 and leave a message. We will try our best to accommodate you for another performance or future production. We want to help all audience members to have the best experience possible with us!
No Recording Policy
Due to contract restrictions stipulated by Actor's Equity, the national union of professional stage actors and managers, the use of recording equipment or the taking of photographs is strictly prohibited at all performances. This includes, but is not limited to, cell phones with cameras, video cameras, and audio recording devices. New City Stage Company reserves the right to confiscate any and all devices in non-compliance to this policy.
Theatre Etiquette
Due to the intimate nature of all of the stages at the Adrienne's Theatre, almost any noise may be disruptive for other patrons, as well as the actors on stage. Out of courtesy, we insist that all electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, watch alarms, etc.) be turned off and any lozenges or cough drops be opened before the start of the performance. Conversation must be kept to a minimum and text messaging is forbidden…. Unless you're recommending the show to your friends!
CHILDREN ATTENDANCE
Although New City Stage Company hosts many high schools and colleges at our theatre, our productions are NOT geared towards children and often contain mature themes and scenes. We ask parents to please use discretion when bringing minors to our performances. While it is up to you as the parent or guardian to decide whether or not a show is appropriate for your child, we do recommend they be at least 15 to attend our productions unless otherwise stated on our web site. Children under the age of 10 will not be admitted. Please contact the Box Office at 215-563-7500 for specific information regarding each production.
