New City Stage Company's second season (and first full season of work) was dedicated to locally born and raised award-winning playwright and screenwriter William Mastrosimone. Most well known for the film adaption of his play Extremities starring Farrah Fawcett, he holds an MFA in Playwriting from Rutgers and lectures on playwriting world-wide. He still resides locally, in Bucks County, PA, and was actively involved in the season, the first festival dedicated solely to his work.
"William Mastrosimone's plays are audacious. This is not all they are of course, but they challenge us, sometimes to recoil in shock or at least become unsettled… his grasp of the potential of the stage is clear and masterful… he has open-eyed and open-hearted vision of humanity."
— M.E. Cotis, founding head of the Playwriting Program at Rutgers University
