Ryder Thornton
Ryder Thornton is excited to return to New City Stage after directing last season's hit Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love. He has directed over 30 productions locally and internationally. Before coming to Philly, he was a Fulbright Scholar in Budapest, where he acted and directed for various English and Hungarian companies, including The Merlin Theater, The Vidam Theater and The Budapest Baroque Orchestra. Locally, he has directed and assisted directors at The Philadelphia Live Arts Festival, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Kaibutsu, Walking Fish Theater, EgoPo Productions, The Wilma Theatre, Allens Lane, Pennsylvania Academy of Vocal Arts, Temple Theaters, The Pearl Theatre Company and many others. He received his M.F.A. in directing from Temple and has studied performance and directing at The American Conservatory Theater and SITI Company. He is also a produced playwright and an associate member of The Stage Directors and Choreographer's Society. |
