Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge: The Director
Michael Brophy
Michael is pleased to return to New City Stage Company. He previously directed When You Comin' Back, Red Ryder? and Why Torture Is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them for the company. Michael has worked as a director, actor and sound designer in the Philadelphia area for over twenty years. A co-founder of the Lantern Theater, Michael directed a number of productions for the company, including: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, True West, Rough Crossing, Underneath the Lintel, Betrayal,
The Birthday Party,
and Travels With My Aunt, for which he was nominated for the 2004 Barrymore Award for Best Director. As an actor, he has worked for a number of theaters including People's Light and Theatre Company, Lantern Theater, Novel Stages, Arden Theatre, Red Heel Theatre, and Philadelphia Shakespeare in the Park. Michael would like to thank his brother Fran for his steadfast, unwavering support, Ralph for being the finest consigliere a person could ask for, and his daughter Hannah, a constant reminder of what's important and what isn't.
