Joe Guzmán (Cliff) is happy to make his New City Stage debut. Recent credits include Gallo in Theatre Exile's Roosters, Dr. Brown in InterAct Theatre's Skin In Flames, and Joe in The Time of Your Life and Antonio in Merchant of Venice, both at Temple University. Joe has performed at most of the area's theaters including the Arden, the Wilma, People's Light, Philadelphia Theater Co., Lantern Theater, Bristol riverside, and Delaware Theatre Co. Some of his favorites include Cassius in Julius Caesar and the title role in Macbeth (Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival), Erwin Schrödinger in Schrödinger's Girlfriend and Paul Gauguin in Inventing Van Gough (Act II Playhouse), Victor in Private Lives (Arden Theater), Malvolio in Twelfth Night and Don Lope in Lovers and Executioners, for which he received a Barrymore Award (Lantern Theater). He is currently working on his M.F.A. at Temple. Love to Jill – happy birthday!
Amanda Schoonover (Rose) is excited to be making her New City Stage Company debut in this charming play! Amanda is a four time Barrymore Award nominee receiving two in 2006 (supporting actress and ensemble in a play) for her work as Dottie Smith in Theatre Exile's Killer Joe, directed by Joe Canuso. She has worked with many theaters in Philadelphia including People's Light, Bristol Riverside, Pig Iron, the National Constitution Center, and Lantern Theater. Favorite roles include Emily in Our Town at Hedgerow Theatre, Lucy in Mr. Marmalade with Exile, Flora in The Loyalist with Fictitious Theatre Co., and Sara in Grace with Luna Theater. She also co-produced and performed in the critically acclaimed 4.48 Psychosis with Theater Catalyst. She is a proud graduate of Philly's own University of the Arts. Thanks to Neill and Ginger.
